Two Rivers Community Orchestra is one of the longest running orchestral ensemble in the region. Founded in 2002 as the Northern Orchestra of British Columbia by the renowned violinist, composer, and teacher Gordon Lucas. It was created to provide a training and performance outlet for amateur musicians in Prince George and Vanderhoof.

Following the 2020 pandemic, Gordon Lucas stepped down as the musical director and the position was taken up by Yoshi Sawatzky. Over the past few years, Yoshi has breathed new life into the orchestra and brought together our communities in ways we didn't know were possible.  As the orchestra's focus has been changing over the past few years, away from training young musicians to a more community focus, we have recently elected to transition to a new branding as the Two Rivers Community Orchestra. In June of 2025, Yoshi stepped down as Musical Director and the position has been passed on to our current director: José Delgado-Guevara

Today, the Orchestra has evolved to include members from a number of Northern BC communities. Orchestra membership includes people of all ages and from all walks of life who share a common passion and a love of live orchestral music.

Two Rivers Community Orchestra is a non profit organization and is incorporated under the Society Act of British Columbia.
